cutting the umbilical cord

i think i’ve finally learnt to see my parents as individuals, rather than just my parents. and i think they have grown to see me as an individual in the same light, and not just their child.

it is a nice place to be in. i’m really enjoying our conversations we have these days.

still, i personally don’t think anyone can truly understand the idea of independence/an individual in their own right unless one has cut all safety nets. i believe i am striding purposefully towards the edge of the diving board x
